According to Enhanced Media Metrics Australia, Australians make 51.5 million visits to Quick Service Restaurants every month. So what did we all order?

2015’s Favourite Pizza…
There’s no surprises here with the Hawaiian being the most ordered pizza! How can you resist a pizza topped with stringy mozzarella cheese, Virginia ham and fresh pineapple? Coming in close second is the all-time classic Margherita. So make sure your Hawaiian is better than the rest to draw in the crowds.

For those who like to enjoy a Thai feast often, the bestselling Thai dish last year was Pad Thai – the classic Noodle dish that has won over the hearts of foodies across Australia

won the number 1 spot with sweet victory! Overall, this sugary treat ranked 24 in the top 50 ordered dishes of 2015, so those with a sweet tooth can rest easy knowing it’s high up on the list. If your restaurant doesn’t have it on offer - you had better find a supplier.


The One We’ve All Been Waiting For…

Coming in first out of everything is the all beloved Garlic Bread – who would’ve thought? This famous side is added to orders left, right and centre. It is commonly included in deals because it’s cheap for businesses and loved by customers.

What Can Your Business Get Out Of This?
Market research! It’s important to keep track of customer trends as you can transform the way you do business and increase margins and profit. Start focusing on what your customers are ordering to ensure they are kept happy. This can be done via surveys, order tracking or by simply asking them face-to-face.

How To Turn Data into Orders:
Once you’ve found out which products your customers favour, you can perfect those products and create promotions around them. For example, since Garlic Bread is the most ordered product of 2015, think about giving it out for free with orders or add it in a pizza offer to increase your order value.

So if you’ve got Hawaiian pizza, Pad Thai or Garlic Bread on your menu, start using them to your advantage. Or if you’re a customer, just order them - because they’re delicious!
